Course Structure

Kids sail in pairs in small boats in Tackers 1 – Having Fun sailing. It’s a great way to meet new friends, and kids have the chance to sail with different kids in their group.

The Start Sailing program is

• Saturday 17th February
• Saturday 24th February 
• Saturday 2nd March

Session time is: 9 am - 12.00pm

How to Register

This course has a minimum age of 7 and a maximum of 12 years.

Fees

Registration Fee: $150, which includes:

• Use of Club dinghies for the whole program
• Club lifejackets
• The Australian Sailing Participant Course fee
• Qualified instructors and assistants.

The Australian Sailing Course fee enables the young sailors to fully participate in the Australian Sailing programs, for their progress through the program to be followed, and for the attainment of recognition of their progress. This also ensures that the number of participants at any time is appropriate for the level of supervision.

Once the program has commenced, the club will not be able to refund the course fee if the sailor is unable to participate in the program.

Course Overview
This course combines Start Sailing 1 and 2 together.

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
