Frankston Yacht Club is a Discover Sailing Centre, and as been nominated for Yachting Victoria's Discover Sailing Centre of the Year 2012 - 2014, and awarded Discover Sailing Program of the Year in 2016. Frankston Yacht Club's Learn2Sail Program is a recognized Discover Sailing centre ran by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.

Do you have to be a member of Frankston Yacht Club to participate in Learn2Sail?
No, one of the greatest things about Learn2Sail at Frankston is that you don't have to be a member of our club.
Do I need my own boat?
No, at Frankston Yacht Club we supply the boats, as well as instructors, PFDs, rescue craft and a great time.
Do you have to be able to swim to participate in Learn2Sail?
Yes, minimal swimming ability is required however you will be wearing PFDs at all times.
Will I be sailing in a boat by myself?
When participating in Start Sailing 1, participants will be sailing in pairs. Although, if you talk to your instructor about sailing by yourself they will do what they can to make it happen.
How can parents/guardians get involved in Learn2Sail?
Learn2Sail programs are run be fully qualified Yachting Australia Instructors. The Instructors plan, deliver and make sure all participants are safe and having fun at all times while developing their skills and confidence on and off the water in a safe environment. If you or a parent/guardian would like to get involved in Learn2Sail there are many off-water roles available.
What to bring:
- Bathers (including a rash vest or t-shirt)
- Wetsuit (if available)
- Thermal underclothes if available
- Woolen or thermal jumpers for cold days
- Windproof and waterproof jacket
- Old runners or wetsuit booties
